A PERSONAL NOTE
My approach to life, and to therapy, is shaped by my own life experience. It has taught me, more than once, that a small moment — a meeting, a delay, a decision that seemed minor at the time — can change everything that follows, often in ways that only make sense later.
Hence Sliding Doors.
Not that hardship is meant to happen, or that it has to be explained away, but that it can be understood — and that such understanding can help clarify not only what matters, but more importantly, what can come next.
It is this very perspective that I bring to this work: curiosity about how you arrived here and care in helping you choose your next step forward.
HOW I WORK
Therapy works best when there is a genuine fit between client and therapist. I work to build that connection from the first session so you feel heard and understood rather than assessed.
My approach is strengths-based and tailored to the person in front of me. I work in a solution-focused way and draw on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques — blended to fit you, rather than asking you to fit a single method. Together, we look at your experience, what has helped before, and what you want to be different. Sessions are a place for open, honest conversation, and for practical change that holds up outside the room. The goal will be for you to continue building new skills and a more clear understanding of yourself on an ongoing basis.
The areas I work with most are broad: anxiety and stress, low mood, divorce and family change, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, relationships, and school and peer difficulties. You do not need a label for what you are going through before we begin.
My years of clinical experience and continuous training shape a practice grounded in what actually works.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I do talk therapy with teens and young adults in the midst of life transitions, and with mature adults working through anxiety, parenting, work challenges, relationships, and divorce.
Most people come to therapy at a point of change: starting or leaving school, beginning a career, struggling in a relationship, becoming a parent, or ending a marriage. My role is to offer a steady, private place to think clearly about what is happening and to help determine what might come next.
My approach is warm, attentive, and solution-focused. I draw on your own strengths and experience, so the work builds resilience and leads to change that lasts beyond our sessions.
Sessions are held by a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform so we can meet from anywhere in New York State or Michigan. In-person sessions are also available in Birmingham, Michigan.
LIFE IS FULL OF SLIDING DOORS MOMENTS
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Before private practice, I worked in inpatient hospital settings with both children and adults — first at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and subsequently at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Those experiences shaped how I work today: carefully, collaboratively, and with a clear sense of when a client needs more support than outpatient therapy alone can provide.
